Learn Full-Stack Web Developer Free in 6 Months
Build and ship full-stack web apps: front-end with React and TypeScript, back-end with Node.js, and real databases.
Six months is the honest timeline to go from zero to full-stack web developer, front end through database. This plan is 326 hours, about 1.8 hours a day. You start with The Odin Project's Foundations (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), add Git and TypeScript, then build the front end with React and the back end with Node.js and a real database. Where the 3-month web-development plan stops at the front end, this one goes all the way to shipping complete applications.
The daily math
This plan is 326 hours of free courses spread across 180 days. That works out to about 1.8 hours a day, or roughly 12.7 hours a week if you prefer to batch it. Miss a day and you make it up on the weekend; the point is a pace you can actually keep.
The plan, course by course
Why this set, and what we left out
We chose The Odin Project and freeCodeCamp as the spine because both are project-based and free, and we added TypeScript early since modern web jobs increasingly expect it. We put databases last so you have something to connect them to. We left the-odin-project-html-css out as redundant, since Foundations already covers HTML and CSS, and used that saved time for TypeScript and the relational database course instead.
The honest catch
Six months gets you to junior full-stack level with a real portfolio, not senior. Deployment, testing depth, and system design grow with experience. Build and ship projects as you go; the courses are the foundation, not the proof.

Frequently asked questions
Can I become a full-stack web developer in 6 months?
Six months at about 1.8 hours a day gets you to junior full-stack level with a portfolio: front end, back end, and databases. It is the honest minimum for the full stack.
How is this different from the 3-month plan?
The 3-month web-development plan covers the front end only. This 6-month plan adds TypeScript, a Node.js backend, and databases, so you can build complete applications.
Do I need the 3-month plan first?
No. This plan includes its own beginner foundations, so you can start here if you are committing to the full six months.
